We’re doing a trial of People Vs. Dr. Victor Frankenstein for a class project. The charges are as follows:
- Taking Science past the boundaries of nature
- Avoiding the responsibilities of a creator.

The trial is based off of the original novel, so no hollywood interpretations please!

I’d go crib the "I am A Jew" speech from Shakespeare’s Merchant of Venice. As his monster, how could I object to "taking Science past the boundaries?" Wouldn’t such an argument be arguing for my own destruction? For that matter, the only "responsibilities of the creator" that I could see myself arguing for is that of Steinbeck’s East of Eden statements about having free will, give me permissions for "thou mayest go forth and do good: and I’d be ok with it.

I have a first court appearance on December 8th and I have no intention on pleading guilty or plea bargaining because I am innocent. So Im guessing that my case will go to trial. How long does it usually take a case to go to trial? Because I would rather just plead guilty than have to wait another 3 months for a trial.

If you don’t already have a criminal record, don’t plead guilty no matter how long it takes. Having a record will change your life.
